Ramayana Tour

The Ramayana Trail is associated with the Ramayana, a Hindu epic poem in which Seetha, Rama’s wife, is captured by King Ravana. Arrival / Negombo
Following your arrival to Sri Lanka, our paradise island, to commence your Ramayana Tour, the representative will escort you to Negombo, a boutique town on the edge of the Western Province of Sri Lanka. Surrounded by colourful boutiques, and luscious seas, Negombo is the place for you to relax and unwind before you embark on your Ramayana Tour.
Negombo / Chillaw / Kandy / Short Kandy city tour
From Negombo, you will then venture on to Chilaw, where you will find the first pitstop of your Ramayana Tour: Munneswaram. Munneswaram temple is an important regional Hindu temple complex in Sri Lanka. It has been in existence at least since 1000 CE although myths surrounding the temple associate it with the popular Indian epic Ramayana, and its legendary hero-king Rama. Then you will visit the Manawari temple in Chilaw. According to the Ramayana story Sri Lanka proofs, Manavari is the first place where the lord Rama installed and prayed the Shiva lingam after the end of the war with king Ravana to liberate Sita. It is said to be the only lingam which has named after him other than the one in Rameshwaram, India. You will then venture onwards to the hill country of Sri Lanka. In Kandy, if time permits, you may be able to have a quick city tour, where you can visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and Royal Botanical Gardens.
Kandy / Nuwara Eliya
On Day 3, you will visit the Ramayana section of Kandy, which is on the way to Nuwara Eliya. The Sri Baktha Hanuman Kovil will be your first stop of the day. Chinmaya Mission of Sri Lanka built this Hanuman Temple in Ramboda. The Sri Bhakta Hanuman temple is dedicated to the God Hanuman and is an important stop on the Ramayana Tour in Sri Lanka. Visitors can see the 18-foot-tall Hanuman statue, the tallest in Sri Lanka, which is housed inside the Shri Bhakta Hanuman Temple in Ramboda. Then you'll go to the Seetha Amman Kovil. This is thought to be the location where Sita was imprisoned by Asur Samrat (the Devil).
Nuwara Eliya / Bandarawela
From Nuwara Eliya, you will journey to Bandarawela on Day 04, where you will visit the Divurumpola Temple. According to the Ramayana in Sri Lanka It is believed that Divurumpola temple is the place where Sita underwent the famous fire ordeal Agni Pariksha or “Agni” test in order to prove her chastity to God Rama after being rescued by him where she came unscathed and proved her innocence and purity. Further in, you also have a chance to visit the Gayathri Pedam. The Gayathri Cathedral also known as Sri-Lankatheeswarar Temple is the very first temple dedicated for Goddess Gayathri. Gayathri Siddhar chose this place because it was a spiritual revelation. It is believed that the Tri Moortis – Siva, Brahma and Vishnu, appeared here when prince Meganath also known as Indrajit, son of an ancient Sri Lankan King Ravana Performed Siva Thapas and Nikumbala Yagna.
